McCain 2008 DEPUTY CAMPAIGN MANAGER CHRISTIAN FERRY ON HILLARY CLINTON’S HEALTH
September 13, 2016
“In his 2000 run for president, John McCain faced rumors about whether or not his experiences as a prisoner of war in Vietnam had scarred him mentally and left him capable to serve in the White House. The whisper campaign was deplorable, but the campaign responded to it forcefully by releasing his complete medical records going back to his time as a Midshipman at the US Naval Academy.
Those records included 1000+ pages and many details about his time in Vietnam and the physical and mental challenges he faced. In 2008, when he ran for president at the age of 72, McCain again made available to reporters his medical records, including details about his successful fight against melanoma. In both cases, McCain’s transparency ended the debate about his health and his ability to fulfill the duties of the presidency.”
