Christian Ferry, a founding partner of The Trailblazer Group, has more than 20 years experience managing political and business organizations in the United States and around the world. Mr. Ferry assists clients in developing and executing strategic communications and management plans to achieve their business and political goals.
He has worked with clients on both state and federal issues, and has also managed political campaigns in the United States, Latin America and Africa. Mr. Ferry was recently an advisor to President Danilo Medina’s campaign for re-election in Dominican Republic.
In 2015, Mr. Ferry served as Campaign Manager for Lindsey Graham’s 2016 presidential campaign. In 2014, he served as the Senior Strategist for Juan Carlos Varela’s successful campaign for President of Panama, overseeing the campaign’s overall strategy, polling, voter contact and message development. Campaign and Elections magazine awarded the Varela campaign their prestigious Reed Award for Best International Campaign of 2014.
In 2008, Mr. Ferry was the Deputy Campaign Manager for McCain-Palin 2008. He joined the campaign in January 2007 as the National eCampaign Director and was elevated to Deputy Campaign Manager in July 2007. As National eCampaign Director, Mr. Ferry built the campaign’s initial online presence and managed the campaign’s website, internal databases, online advertising and social media strategies.
Before joining McCain 2008, Mr. Ferry worked as a strategic consultant, managing government relations projects, domestic and international business development, and elective politics. Mr. Ferry represented clients before the federal government on issues including transportation and telecommunications and managed successful political and business campaigns in the United States, Eastern Europe and Latin America.
From 2000-2003, Mr. Ferry worked for the Union Pacific Corporation as Deputy Director for Political Affairs, managing Union Pacific’s political action committee and representing the company and its subsidiaries in Washington.
Mr. Ferry is a veteran of the McCain 2000 presidential campaign, the 1997 gubernatorial campaign for Jim Gilmore in Virginia, Bob Dole’s 1996 campaign for president and the 1996 Republican National Convention. He worked in Governor Gilmore’s administration as a Special Assistant to the Secretary of Natural Resources and Governor Gilmore appointed Mr. Ferry to the Virginia Board of Conservation and Recreation in 2000.
Mr. Ferry is a frequent political commentator and analyst and appears regularly in the Wall Street Journal and Washington Post, and on CNN, FOX News, and MSNBC.
A native Virginian, Mr. Ferry holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia in government and history. He and his wife, Holly, reside in Alexandria, Virginia, with their daughter, Spencer, and two sons, Walker and Ford.
